Differences and scope of application between electric actuators and electric actuators

Pneumatic actuators and electric actuators are both used to control the movement of valves, valve discs, and other mechanical devices, but there are some significant differences in their specific working principles and scope of application.

 

1. Pneumatic actuators control their movement through the air pressure provided by a gas source. Its working principle is to move the piston inside a cylinder by pushing it with air pressure. The air pressure inside the cylinder is regulated by the air source control valve to ensure the movement speed and power of the control actuator. Electric actuators control their movement through power on, usually achieved through an electric motor. The control method of electric actuators is more flexible, and the movement speed and power can be controlled by adjusting the magnitude and direction of the current.

 

2. Pneumatic actuators have lower costs and are easier to maintain compared to electric actuators. Pneumatic actuators only require one air source, and the pressure control is simple and clear, without the need for complex control systems. Electric actuators require complex electrical control systems to control activities, so the cost and maintenance cost are relatively high.

 

3. Because electric actuators have more flexible control methods and a wider range of applications, they are mostly suitable for situations that require frequent adjustment and precise control. The power output of electric actuators is also more stable and can withstand more loads.
